Hi, what are you looking for?

Who is the Chiefs most underrated offensive weapon?

Going into the 2020 NFL season, the Chiefs will still have one of the top offenses in the entire league. However, the unit could see some changes, pending the free agency of Demarcus Robinson and Sammy Watkins contract. With the current players on the Chiefs offense, the most underrated player going into this upcoming season is WR Mecole Hardman.

Hardman was the fifth receiver taken in the 2019 NFL draft when he was drafted in the second round, with the 56th overall pick. Hardman ran a 4.33 40-yard dash at the combine and had a 15.6 YPR average with the Georgia Bulldogs in college.

Hardman didn’t get much opportunity in 2019, seeing only a 43 percent snap share and 41 targets. He caught 26 passes for 538 yards and six touchdowns, averaging 20.7 yards per reception, which marked as the highest in the NFL. When Patrick Mahomes targeted Hardman, he had a QB rating of 146.6, the highest mark for any QB/WR duo.

Hardman has breakaway speed and run after the catch ability to easily separate from any defender, just like star wide receiver and teammate, Tyreek Hill. Hardman could become the WR2 this upcoming season if the Chiefs lose Robinson and cut ties with Watkins. Hardman could become a dangerous WR2 with his top-notch speed and great hands. Hardman has the creativity of Andy Reid and Eric Bieniemy, along with the 2018 NFL MVP and Super Bowl LIV MVP, Patrick Mahomes, throwing him the ball. Hardman could easily break 1,000 yards receiving next year and become a household name with his strong talent and the supporting cast around him.
