Top 5 NFL QBs in 2020

Here’s my projection for the best NFL quarterbacks in the 2020 season. If you disagree, feel free to comment below!

#1: Patrick Mahomes (Chiefs)

Big surprise, the current Super Bowl champion is at the top of the mountain. In the offseason, the Chiefs added ANOTHER chess piece for this “weapon of mass destruction” to incorporate into his offense. He’s older, wiser, and has proven himself to be the definition of clutch. The Chiefs also retained all of their starters (excluding left guard Stephen Wisniewski) making Mahomes the apex predator of the NFL.

#2: Russell Wilson (Seahawks)

After news recently broke that stated Russell Wilson had almost been traded to the Browns before the 2018 draft, Wilson has all of the motivation in the world to prove how inept the Seahawks front office is. As always the MVP conversation is centered around him this offseason and for good reason. D.K. Metcalf is only going to get better, Tyler Locket is still elite, and the Seahawks added plenty of O-line help this offseason. Be ready to hear this future HOF’s name a lot this season.

#3: Lamar Jackson (Ravens)

Unfortunately, we might see the reigning MVP take a step back in 2020. Fortunately for Ravens fans, a step back for Jackson still makes him leaps and bounds over most NFL QBs. With only WR Marquise Brown and TE Mark Andrews to throw to, and a lack of talent at the center and guard positions, means that Lamar will throw and run for less yards in the 2020 season.

#4: Ben Roethlisberger (Steelers)

Big Ben is my dark horse for the 2020 NFL MVP. He is motivated, has Mike Tomlin as his head coach, and has motivated players around him… plus he has a beard. All jokes aside, following his injury in 2019, Ben’s performance and offseason issues have left a lot of room for the doubters to talk. However, with all of these issues Big Ben has been WORKING this offseason. He’s in the best shape of his NFL career and has ample opportunity to prove once again that he is one of the best QBs in the AFC.

#5: Drew Brees (Saints)

Michael Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, Jared Cook, Alvin Kamara, and a top 15 offensive line means that Drew Brees is going to have one hell of a season in 2020. Brees is a seasoned vet, but is by no means washed up; He scored 27 touchdowns to just 4 interceptions on the season. Brees has nothing left to accomplish in his NFL career (1 MVP and 1 Super Bowl win), but that doesn’t mean he is not going to have an incredible season in 2020.
