The Indianapolis Colts had a tough season last year, missing the playoffs with a 7-9 record. However, the Colts made some great moves in the offseason to upgrade their roster to make a push for the playoffs in 2020.

Key Additions: QB Philip Rivers, DT DeForest Buckner, and CB Xavier Rhodes

Key Losses: DB Pierre Desir and TE Eric Ebron

Let’s dive into the starters for the Indianapolis Colts in 2020.

Offensive Starters:

  • QB: Philip Rivers
  • RB: Marlon Mack
  • WR: T.Y. Hilton
  • WR: Zach Pascal
  • WR: Parris Campbell
  • TE: Jack Doyle
  • LT: Anthony Castonzo
  • LG: Quentin Nelson
  • C: Ryan Kelly
  • LG: Mark Glowinski
  • RT: Braden Smith

Defensive/Special Teams Starters:

  • LDE: Justin Houston
  • LDT: DeForest Buckner
  • RDT: Grover Stewart
  • RDE: Denico Autry
  • WLB: Darius Leonard
  • MLB: Anthony Walker
  • SLB: Bobby Okereke
  • CB: Xavier Rhodes
  • CB: Rock Ya-Sin
  • SS: Khari Willis
  • FS: Malik Hooker
  • K: Rodrigo Blankenship
  • P: Rigoberto Sanchez

Strongest Position: Offensive Line

The Colts are known to have one of the league’s best offensive lines. Anthony Castonzo is one of the best left tackle’s in the league and Quentin Nelson is the best offensive lineman overall in the NFL. Expect more of the same from the Colts offensive line as they will stay as one of the best, if not the best, in the league. With new QB, Philip Rivers, the Colts are primed to fight for a playoff spot as Philips Rivers has a terrific line.

Weakest Position: Tight End

The only reason I say the tight end position is weakest is because of health concerns. Jack Doyle has struggled the past couple of seasons with injuries as he has missed 10 games over the past two years and has affected his production. Newly-signed backup tight end, Trey Burton, is now on injured reserve and struggled with injuries last season, only playing in eight games for the Chicago Bears.

The Colts did a great job this offseason adding new pieces. Phillip Rivers is going to have a better season a much better offensive line and the defense got a huge boost with the acquisition of DeForest Buckner. I expect the Colts to fight heavily for the division and make a playoff appearance this year.
