With another must win for the Chiefs as they head to Washington to play the Football Team, what does our staff think the final score will be?

Another week and another poor defensive performance, however, Spags finally and begrudgingly makes some adjustments. The offense finally accepts that teams have made adjustments to stop their game plan from the last two seasons. WFT should be another inferior team, but as usual, the Chiefs make them look like playoff contenders through most of the game. Only having to overcome one turnover this week, the Chiefs get back in the win column and everything looks rosy, for one week. Bonus: Jarran Reed makes a tackle, accidentally, after tripping over his own feet.

The Chiefs force 2 turnovers but the defense is still bad and can’t stop Antonio Gibson as Gibson goes over 100 yards. Mahomes is consistent and doesn’t turn the ball over once so they can win in a shootout.

This has to be a “get right game” for the defense and the Chiefs as a whole. Lose this game and it might get ugly. Though the defensive line is strong, WFT has no ability to cover. Mahomes and Co. should be in for a big day. There’s no hope if Taylor Heineke carves up this defense with an injured Terry McLaurin and Antonio Gibson.

Kansas City’s defense, even without Chris Jones, has heard the screams from Chiefs fans and has read the Twitter feeds so you better believe they are going to come out with serious moxie and anger. Outside of the defense, the Chiefs offense is going to do everything they can to show they are still legit even though they’ve scored 24 points or less for the third time in six games. Josh Gordon, D-Rob, Hill, Hardman, and the new RB depth chart are all going to get touches and targets which will help scare and spread the defense for this game and a few games after this hopefully. In the end, Mahomes will appear perfect, throwing for 4+ TD’s and probably rushing in another just for fun.

This is put up or shut up time for the Chiefs defense, this week they have no excuses but to show signs of life against a team who has their backup QB and starting running back out. The Chiefs will have to be great on the defensive side of the ball to shut up all of the critics but I expect them to have a solid game. The offense will have an efficient game where Mahomes connects with Kelce and Hardman through the air and Williams has a couple of big runs on the ground. I hope the Chiefs are able to keep hold of the ball as if they turn the ball over more than once, Washington might be able to keep it pretty close.

The Washington defense has been terrible so far this season, but the K.C. one has been even worse. Mahomes and the offense look better, but the defense continues to struggle which will keep Washington in the game late. The Chiefs get back to .500, but the questions persist.
