Five players the Chiefs could draft at 31

With the 31st pick in the 2021 NFL draft the Kansas City Chiefs select…. Well, I can’t tell you because I don’t know.

But I can give 5 players the Chiefs could draft at 31 in the draft. I have one player for each of the positions I find to be the biggest needs. CB, WR, LT, EDGE, and LB are the positions I find to be the biggest. Without further comment let me hop right into my 5 players.

OT Samuel Cosmi, Texas

The 6’7” 300 pound OT out of Texas played 14 games at right tackle and 21 at left tackle during his career. According to the Athletic Matrix Cosmi is the most athletic tackle in the draft. Possessing the highest power grade metric in the class according to them. The Chiefs have needed their LT ever since they cut Eric Fisher. With every position set and ready to go besides LT this move makes perfect sense.

CB Asante Samuel Jr, Florida State

Standing at 5’10” and 184 pounds Samuel’s scheme fit is a man heavy defense. With Steven Spagnuola loving to send the blitz Samuel would be a perfect scheme fit showing how he can play outside and even at the slot position. Samuel is also a tough run defender, getting his job done while not being a liability.

WR Terrace Marshall Jr, LSU

Marshall standing at 6’3” 200 pounds is a versatile receiver who can play all over the field showing signs of being as good as a WR1 or even sliding into the slot if needed. He shows great size, physicality, hands, ball skills and YAC. Marshall would be a perfect day one WR2. Ranked at 7th overall for athleticism by the athletic matrix proving to be a great scheme fit for Big Red in company.

DE Azeez Ojulari, Georgia

Now we may need some luck for Azeez to fall this far, however standing at 6’3” 240 pounds the DE shows excellent motor and has a need to make the play and get the job done. Azeez shows good quickness, effort and body control. Given that no one likes people who quit, Azeez is the opposite.

LB Nick Bolton, Missouri

Standing at 6’0” 232 pounds Bolton displays incredible leadership and explosiveness, trigger and attack. Bolton would be a starting Mike linebacker at the next level who is an NFL ready player and can start right away if needed. If the Chiefs are looking for someone who can be the heart of the defense then Bolton is their guy.
