The Chiefs dropped their first game of the 2020 season, losing to the rival Raiders at Arrowhead Stadium. In one of the worst games of the Steve Spagnuolo era, the defense gave up 40 points and 490 yards.
After jumping out to a 21-10 lead, the offense fell flat and the defense couldn’t stop anything, getting carved up for over 340 yards by Derek Carr and allowing multiple big plays through the air.
The Raiders defense stepped up in the second half, only allowing a late touchdown, but not before the score was 40-24, meaning a comeback for the Chiefs was a longshot anyway.
The Chiefs drop to 4-1 and the Raiders improve to 3-2, now just one game back of the Chiefs, and in possession of the tiebreaker should the two teams have the same record before meeting up again in week 11.
As of now, the Chiefs will play next Monday night against the Bills, but that is contingent on no additional positive tests within the Titans organization. It’s a very fluid situation and we will keep you updated as we learn more information.
