The Blank Breakdown: New York Jets Roster

The Jets had a miserable season in 2019. They finished the season 7-9, marking the fourth straight season that the team has finished in the bottom half of the AFC East. The Jets did not make any big splashes sin-free agency but did trade away one of the league’s best safeties in Jamal Adams.

Strongest Position: Safety

I know it is crazy to think that the safety position would be the Jets strongest after trading away their best player in Jamal Adams. Bradley McDougald is a solid piece that the acquired in the Adams trade. Last year in Seattle, he recorded 70 tackles with six passes defensed and two interceptions. Marcus Maye is another solid safety option at safety as he set a career-high in passes defense last year with seven.

Weakest Position: Wide Receiver

The Jets lost their No.1 option at wide receiver this offseason as Robby Anderson signed with the Carolina Panthers. They added Breshad Perriman, but he isn’t a top target caliber receiver as he was the No.3 in Tampa Bay last year. They Jets don’t have a stand out top target for Darnold his year.

The Jets did a great job of bolstering their offensive line, but the rest of the offense leves a lot to be desired. Darnold has not been the franchise-caliber quarterback they expected when he was drafted and Le’Veon Bell did not perform well last season with the Jets. The defense will also take a step back this year without C.J. Moseley and Jamal Adams. The Jets will be the last place team in the AFC East.
