Chiefs re-sign DT Braxton Hoyett

The Kansas City Chiefs re-signed Braxton Hoyett just a couple of weeks after waiving him.

Hoyett originally joined the Titans as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi State last year, but didn’t make the 53-man roster.

The Chiefs signed Hoyett to the practice squad last October, and he spent the remainder of the season with the team.

Hoyett was waived on July 29 along with five others to bring the roster down to 80 players, but the Chiefs had an open roster spot following the opt-out of third-round pick Lucas Niang, who was the third Chief to opt-out.

Hoyett has not seen the field yet in the NFL, but played 10 games in 2018 with Mississippi State, tallying 3.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.
