Kelechi Osemele brings nasty play and veteran leadership to the Chiefs

The veteran guard brings much to the table as far as experience goes, but he also brings the nasty the Chiefs have been missing up front.

Here is a film thread on the newest member of the Chiefs complete with voice over analysis. Osemele brings a veteran presence the Chiefs have needed at the guard spot for the past two seasons, as well as nasty play that will be essential in keeping Patrick Mahomes healthy.

He has the ability to move in space and has shown it throughout his career. He should be good at Andy Reid's screen game given his ability to take good angles to get to more athletic players. Even on this stretch to the opposite side he still gets to his man in the end. pic.twitter.com/RI2GOKVxLk

Ultimately KO is in KC to keep Pat Mahomes healthy. The Chiefs are not paying him to be the player he was in Oakland/Baltimore/New York, but want him to help continue to protect the franchise. He will bring a physical presence the unit has missed, and a very high IQ pic.twitter.com/OGprko2o4H

Teams in 2020 will try to ramp up the pressure that they put on Mahomes, which will make the offensive line even more crucial as the season goes on. Osemele’s biggest trait is that he wins quickly, especially in pass pro. On a new team and in an outstanding organization we could see his flashback to his 2016 self who was an All-Pro.
