The Kansas City Royals announced on Tuesday that Super Bowl MVP QB Patrick Mahomes has joined the team’s ownership group.
Mahomes now becomes the youngest owner in sports history, according to Ian Rapoport.
Mahomes grew up in and around MLB clubhouses, as his father, Pat Mahomes Sr., spent 11 seasons in the majors with six different teams.
Mahomes himself was drafted in the 37th round of the 2014 MLB draft by the Detroit Tigers, and they had some fun on Twitter after the announcement.
Fresh off of a record-breaking extension, Mahomes now adds to his resume and becomes an even bigger part of the Kansas City community.
