Odds are set for the variety of categories you can bet on for this upcoming NFL season. There is a familiar face at the top of the Coach of the Year category, Bill Belichick. Also, to no surprise, Joe Burrow is at the top of the board for Rookie of the Year.
For all the takes that New England is tanking, Vegas does not have that same sentiment. Belichick is the favorite to win Coach of the Year followed by Bruce Arians and Mike McCarthy.
Belichick has won Coach of the Year three times so far in his coaching career. This year would be a little different, however, without Tom Brady under center for him. The two of them both want to prove that they can succeed without the other and it would be very Belichick-ian to go out and win the award the first year without Brady.
While Belichick battles for his fourth Coach of the Year accolade, Joe Burrow will be battling for Rookie of the Year.
The former LSU Tiger is the favorite for the award. He is just ahead of Kansas City Chiefs first round pick, Clyde Edwards-Helaire. A quarterback or running back has won Offensive Rookie of the Year in nine of the last ten years. Wide receiver, Odell Beckham Jr., has been the only outlier.
Burrow was the first overall pick and is surrounded by some solid skill players in Cincinnati, so it is understandable he is the favorite. However, CEH is in the most dynamic offense in the NFL and has the perfect skillset for a running back friendly system. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the underdog walk away with the hardware.
