Chiefs sign QB Shea Patterson

The Chiefs have signed former Michigan QB Shea Patterson as an undrafted free agent.

Patterson, 23, was one of the top high school recruits in 2016, and committed to Ole Miss. After two seasons at Ole Miss, he transferred to Michigan. In two seasons at Michigan, he compiled a 19-7 record and threw for 45 touchdowns and 15 interceptions.

The move comes just six days after the team released Kyle Shurmur.

Patterson is the fourth quarterback on the Chiefs roster, joining Patrick Mahomes, Chad Henne, and recently signed Jordan Ta’amu, who spent time in the XFL this spring.
