Which AFC West rival came out of the 2020 NFL draft with the best haul?

The Chiefs have dominated the AFC West since 2015 by winning the division with a whopping 27-3 the past 4 years. With most of their players coming back from last year, it will be hard to beat them this coming season.

The presumption would be the Los Angeles Chargers, the Las Vegas Raiders, and the Denver Broncos would have acquired players in the 2020 draft to stop the reigning Kansas City Chiefs.

To do that, they all need to put more points on the board as the Chiefs averaged over 33 points per game last year with Mahomes at the helm of the offense. The division rivals also will need to slow down the KC QB with a good defense.

Now that the 2020 draft is done, which AFC West rival came out with the best haul?

The one team that came out more successful out of the three are the Denver Broncos. They will likely be the second best team of the AFC West next year.

SELECTIONS: 1st round (15th): Jerry Jeudy, WR, Alabama.

2nd round (14th): KJ Hamler, WR, Penn State.

3rd round (13th): Michael Ojemudia, CB, Iowa, (19th): Lloyd Cushenberry III, C, LSU, (31st): McTelvin Agim, DT, Arkansas.

4th round (12th): Albert Okwuegbunam, TE, Missouri.

5th round (33rd): Justin Strnad, OLB, Wake Forest.

6th round (2nd): Netane Muti, OG, Fresno State.

7th round (38th): Tyrie Cleveland, WR, Florida, (40th): Derrek Tuszka, OLB, North Dakota State.

They took two excellent receiving prospects, including Jerry Jeudy, one of the best picks in the first round. The second receiver drafted, Hamler in the second round, has very good speed and has a different style than Jeudy and Courtland. Those 2 players will add more weapons to the offense and give Lock opportunities to score more points per game.

If they’re right about second year QB Drew Lock and trust him, Denver could make some noise next season, and maybe earn an AFC wild card spot at the end of it.

Ojemudia filled a need after Denver let Chris Harris walk in free agency.

The LSU player, Cushenberry, was one of the best offensive linemen on the best offense in the history of college football last year. That alone says it is a good pick.

DT Arkansas Agim was an amazing pick too. Indeed, Denver has several defensive players with final year contracts, so Agim is a good addition to the line.

With guys like Von Miller, Bradley Chubb, and Jurrell Casey the Broncos have a very talented defense to stop or slow down Patrick Mahomes and co.

Moreover, with the instability at the QB position at Los Angeles, and the same old same incongruences at Las Vegas, the Denver Broncos are undoubtedly the biggest rival for the Chiefs next year.
