Chiefs cornerback Bashaud Breeland was arrested on Tuesday in South Carolina.
According to the York County Sheriff’s Office inmate report, Breeland faces five charges including resisting arrest, having alcohol in a motor vehicle with the seal broken, having an open container of beer or wine in a motor vehicle, possession of 28 grams or less of marijuana or 10 grams of hash and driving without a license.
As of late Tuesday night, Breeland has been booked into a York County jail.
Breeland was a key cog in the 2019 defense that helped lead the Chiefs to their first championship in 50 years, tallying an interception in Super Bowl LIV. He also recently signed a $4.5 million extension to remain with the team in 2020.
The Chiefs are aware of the situation but have no comment based on multiple reports.
