It is finally here! The 2020 NFL draft is tonight and many franchises will be changed forever. There is more speculation around this draft than in recent memory. Many are predicting a multitude of trades. Where do the quarterbacks get drafted? Here is my final mock for the 2020 draft.

*Chiefs trade out of the first round with Miami and acquire picks 39, 153 and 154

Round 2

Pick 39: Jaylon Johnson, CB, Utah

Pick 63: Lucas Niang, OT, TCU

Round 3

Pick 96: Logan Wilson, LB, Wyoming

Round 4

Pick 138: Darrynton Evans, RB, Appalachin State

Round 5

Pick 153: James Proche, WR, SMU

Pick 154: Kyle Murphy, IOL, Rhode Island

Pick 177: Mykal Walker, LB, Fresno State

The Chiefs were able to trade down and get two additional picks. If the Chiefs do this tonight, I wouldn’t be surprised to see General Manager Brett Veach trade back up for a player he loves.

In this scenario they are able to address most of their needs. Jaylon Johnson and Logan Wilson are future starters in the NFL and both could see rolls this year on special teams and in sub packages, if they don’t end up starting. Niang could end up being the starting LT in 2021 if the Chiefs move on from Eric Fisher. Evans is an athletic speedster at RB and Proche is a technician at the WR position who both are picks for the future. Murphy is a developmental lineman along the interior and Walker is a special teams guy who could possibly carve out a role in nickel situations.

The draft is one of the most fun events of the NFL season. Enjoy it and trust Brett Veach and Andy Reid to continue to build a dynasty for years to come!
