Report: Watkins deal with KC features no-trade clause

While a lowered cap hit would make Sammy Watkins more tradeable, that is not a possibility as his new incentive-laced deal includes a no-trade clause, according to Adam Schefter.

There were some trade rumors swirling before the deal was restructured, but now there is no doubt Watkins will remain a Chief through 2020.

After the season, Watkins will then hit the free-agent market. The young wide-out is likely to draw quite a market and will likely be asked to step into a bigger role elsewhere if he leaves Kansas City.
