With the NFL draft about a month away, teams across the league will have decisions to make about who their top prospects are and which players they think will be able to help their team win. With this being said it’s time to dive into a top 50 big board and see where the prospects match up to one another.
- 1. Chase Young EDGE Ohio State
The perfect combination of power and athleticism. Young has the production and the intangibles to be a difference-maker on day one.
- 2.Isaiah Simmons LB Clemson
The more I watch Simmons the more I feel he will help transcend the game. If the sport ever needed a unicorn he would be it.
- 3.Joe Burrow QB LSU
By far the best QB in the draft, his release ranks with some of the best and his ability to work the pocket is unmatched in this draft class.
- 4.Derrick Brown IDL Auburn
He will be able to play in any defensive scheme and any interior position. An incredibly active, powerful, and disruptive force in the middle.
- 5.Jeffrey Okudah CB Ohio State
He is a prototype for an NFL CB in today’s game. Has the speed and size to be able to match up against anyone in the league.
- 6.Tristan Wirfs OT Iowa
He is the best OL in the draft. He will be able to play any position across the line. He is a freak athlete with excellent technique and a nasty disposition.
- 7.CeeDee Lamb WR Oklahoma
Big-time playmaker. Runs effortlessly and is a game-changer when he gets the ball in his hands. Makes excellent cuts and breaks in the open field.
- 8.Jerry Jeudy WR Alabama
The best route runner in the draft this year. He is a fluid athlete who can run the intermediate route or go deep. Fantastic production in his career.
- 9.Henry Ruggs III WR Alabama
Ruggs is so fast he comes off as a complete blur. His quick, efficient strides allow him to be the best deep threat in this year’s draft. He has very soft hands and can make acrobatic grabs.
- 10.K’Lavon Chaisson EDGE LSU
He has an explosive first step off the ball. Chaisson has good power and a solid bull rush with a good counter combination off of it. Excellent lateral movement.
- 11.Jedrick Wills OT Alabama
Wills has great hip snap when engaging defenders in the run game. A quick vertical pass set and long arms help him stone wall would be rushers.
- 12.Tua Tagovailoa QB Alabama
Tua has the field vision to make any throw on the playing surface. He possesses a good combination of arm strength and touch. Very active in the pocket.
- 13.Mekhi Becton OT Louisville
Becton possesses a massive frame complemented with surprising quickness. He is a mountain in pass protection, with nimble feet and heavy hands. Defenses have a hard time pushing him back.
- 14.Justin Herbert QB Oregon
Herbert was gifted with a big frame and a big arm. He does well at changing his throwing angles based on plays and protections. He throws very well on the run.
- 15.Xavier McKinney S Alabama
McKinney reads the QB well and has good instinct and awareness. Fluid movement when back-peddling. He posseses good closing time to defend passes in his direction.
- 16.D’Andre Swift RB Georgia
He uses his outstanding field vision to make great cuts and reads when defenders over pursue. Swift has good hands and good route potential for an RB.
- 17.Javon Kinlaw IDL South Carolina
He plays physical and violent upfront. Kinlaw’s long arms and heavy hands help him displace OL into the backfield. He is a high motor player that has good versatility.
- 18.Andrew Thomas OT Georgia
Thomas is a nasty and physical player who plays whistle to whistle. His strong upper body allows him to lock on defenders and not let them go.
- 19.C.J. Henderson CB Florida
His long arms and a strong frame give him a high ceiling. Henderson does a good job mirroring wideouts.
- 20.Kristian Fulton CB LSU
He reads receivers well and does a good job of breaking up passes. He is also a very good athlete and has very quick feet. He is a good outside press corner.
- 21.Grant Delpit S LSU
Delpit is a physical run-stuffing safety. He has good field vision that leads to him making plays over the middle and in the flats. He showcased talent despite playing hurt in 2019.
- 22.Patrick Queen LB LSU
Queen is an impressive tackler in the open field. Also displays good control playing the run between the tackles. He is very good at taking good angles to beat blockers and meet runners in the backfield.
- 23.Jeff Gladney CB TCU
He has great anticipation on routes looks to knock the ball free or intercept it. His strong hands help him win in man coverage. He also has good hip swivel in transition.
- 24.Kenneth Murray LB Oklahoma
Murray is a thumper in the run game. He accumulated tremendous production at Oklahoma. He has the ability to run sideline to sideline and shoots gaps well to stop the ball.
- 25.Yetur Gross-Matos EDGE Penn State
YGM is a very powerful player. He creates a stalemate in the run game and slips blocks to get into the backfield. He has an amazing bullrush which helps create counters off of it.
- 26.A.J. Epenesa EDGE Iowa
Epenesa has a huge frame and an imposing pass rush. He can beat double teams on the edge and overpowers tackles in the passing game.
- 27.J.K. Dobbins RB Ohio State
Dobbins’ good contact balance and a low center of gravity help him break arm tackles and extend runs. He makes tight cuts and has a good feel for zone schemes.
- 28.Zack Baun EDGE Wisconsin
Baun has good lateral quickness to set the edge and force runners back inside. He has good burst off the ball and a good pass rush.
- 29.Jordan Love QB Utah State
Love has a good natural throwing motion and can sit in the pocket and read defenses well. He knows when to scramble and keeps his vision downfield.
- 30.Justin Jefferson WR LSU
JJ adjusts well on the run to where the ball is being thrown. He has a huge catch radius and makes some acrobatic catches. He also has good burst off the ball.
- 31.K.J. Hamler WR Penn State
He is an explosive slot WR with tons of big play ability. Defenders hold their breath when he gets the ball in space. He has good versatility.
- 32.Jonathan Taylor RB Wisconsin
Taylor had huge career production at Wisconsin and is a prototype pro RB. He has great breakaway speed and good vision for cutbacks. Taylor also possesses good contact balance.
- 33.Jalen Reagor WR TCU
He does a good job at breaking his mid-level routes at the right time to get separation. He has impressive yards after the catch due to his athleticism.
- 34.Neville Gallimore IDL Oklahoma
Gallimore is a ridiculously strong player. Very high motor player. What he lacks in length he makes up for in quickness off the snap. Ver twitchy player slips blocks well in the passing game.
- 35.Cesar Ruiz IOL Michigan
He is the best center in the draft, but can also play OG. He has a strong base and quick feet. He times his punches well and is a very high IQ football player.
- 36.Clyde Edwards-Helaire RB LSU
A low compact frame makes him a load to stop. He has an outstanding contact balance and rarely goes down on the first hit. CEH also has good vision to hit holes and change running angles.
- 37.Cole Kmet TE Notre Dame
He is the most complete pass-catching and blocking TE in the draft. He has a good ability to catch intermediate routes and has a big catch radius. He is also a good RedZone target.
- 38.Ross Blacklock IDL TCU
Blacklock is a very athletic player who plays low and has a good pad level. His good leverage and quick hands make him a relentless rusher.
- 39.Laviska Shenault Jr.WRColorado
An acrobatic pass catcher who wins a majority of 50/50 balls. He is also a very strong receiver with quick hands and tracks the deep ball well.
- 40.Tee Higgins WR Clemson
Higgins is the epitome of a mismatch nightmare, as he has a great frame and good size to compete for contested passes. He is also a very good runner in space, makes good cuts, and gets defenders to over play.
- 41.Denzel Mims WR Baylor
He has great extension and catches the ball with his hands. A good short sutter and burst help him get open off of routes. He has good speed for a larger receiver.
- 42.A.J. Terrell CB Clemson
He has found success in big games against top WR prospects. He stays low in his back peddle and has a very smooth hip flip and transition to run down field.
- 43.Noah Igbinoghene CB Auburn
He is an explosive athlete with the ability to play heavy press man. He has shown he recovers quickly and has a good nose for the ball.
- 44.Prince Tega Wanogho OT Auburn
He has the tools and physical ability to be a very good pro. He is a highly aggressive run blocker who looks to finish and is very good at blocking screens and blocking in space.
- 45.Justin MadubuikeIDLTexas A&M
He was a highly productive player in his time at A&M. His quick hands and good flexibility give him good ability to rush the passer. He also has good counter rush moves.
- 46.Lloyd Cushenberry III IOL LSU
His long arms and strong lower half allow him to anchor himself into the ground and stop rushers in their tracks. He takes good angles when getting to the second level.
- 47.Trevon Diggs CB Alabama
Diggs is a very fluid athlete in the open space. He makes efficient movements in his coverage and is very fundamentally sound. He is a big CB with good footwork.
- 48.Julian Okwara EDGE Notre Dame
Okwara has good punch and good extension to help him shock and shuck blockers. He will be a good fit as a classic 3-4 edge as he can cover and bend the arc.
- 49.Cam Akers RB Florida State
He is lightening quick from his cut into the open field. Akers is also a powerful runner in the open field and breaks tackles.
- 50.Damon Arnette CB Ohio State
Arnette is a very good player in man coverage and who will stick on his WR. He is a good tackler from his CB spot and can play inside or outside corner.
