Early Friday morning, Eagles reporter Geoff Mosher put an end to any trade rumors between Philadelphia and the Chiefs regarding WR Sammy Watkins.
It was reported on Thursday that Philly was interested in bringing in Watkins, as they have struggled to surround star QB Carson Wentz with talent at the wideout position.
While Mosher specifically shot down trade rumors, he did not mention if the Eagles would have interest if Watkins was released from the team.
Watkins has generated a lot of discussion among Chief fans, as moving him would save $14 million in cap space. With the Chiefs re-signing Demarcus Robinson and Mecole Hardman primed for a bigger role in the offense in 2020, there is speculation about whether Watkins will remain on the team.
With each passing day, however, it does appear more and more likely that Watkins will be in KC next season despite the large cap hit.
