Trade haul for Chris Jones could be “tremendous” says Daniel Jeremiah

In a recent interview on 610 Sports Radio with Cody and Gold, NFL analyst, Daniel Jeremiah said that if the Chiefs traded Chris Jones they could recieve a “tremendous” haul.

He went on to say that he thought the Chiefs could get, “at least a 1st and a 3rd round pick for him.”

While Jeremiah admitted he wouldn’t trade Jones and thinks he is someone you can build around along the front, when pressed to say what his aiming point would be in a trade, he said, “two picks and a player is where he would start.”

IF that is what the Chiefs could receive in a trade for Jones, a potential suitor could be the Seattle Seahawks.

The Seahawks are in need of defensive line help and have around $45 million in cap space according to overthecap.com. This would allow them to sign Jones to a long term deal. Seattle holds the 27th pick in the draft and Jones is better than any player they would be able to find at that point.

This would give the Chiefs the 27th and 32nd pick in the first round of the draft. Unfortunately the Seahawks do not hold a 3rd round pick. So, they would have to include a 2nd or a 4th and a player.

A player the Chiefs could be interested in, to be included in the trade, could be corner back Shaquill Griffin. Griffin is a a fast corner with good size. This would add CB help to a Chiefs secondary with a lot of questions surrounding it at the moment.

Trade Recap:

Seahawks Send:
Round 1 Pick 27
Round 4 Pick 124
Shaquill Griffin

Chiefs Send:
Chris Jones

As Jeremiah put it, “Jones is the second best interior pass rusher in the league.” Trading a player of his caliber would require gaining something tremendous in return.
