Chiefs opponent set after Wild Card Weekend

After two triple-headers, the Kansas City Chiefs now know who their opponent will be next weekend in the divisional round. The Cleveland Browns will head to Arrowhead Stadium next Sunday at 3 p.m.

On Saturday morning, the Colts took the Bills down to the last possession. With an Indy win, they would have been the Chiefs’ foe next weekend. Ultimately, the Bills held on for a 27-24 victory, and Kansas City’s attention turned to Sunday’s slate of games.

The Ravens took care of the Titans in a 20-13 victory in the early game, and Cleveland stunned Pittsburgh, jumping out to a 28-0 first-quarter lead and winning in dominant fashion, 48-37. The Cleveland win assured them a trip to KC, as opposed to Baltimore playing the Chiefs had Pittsburgh won.

The official schedule for Divisional Weekend was released during the Browns-Steelers game.

Saturday, January 16

  • Los Angeles Rams at Green Bay Packers, 2:35 p.m. CT
  • Baltimore Ravens at Buffalo Bills, 6:15 p.m. CT

Sunday, January 17

  • Cleveland Browns at Kansas City Chiefs, 2:05 p.m. CT
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New Orleans Saints, 5:40 p.m. CT

The last time the Chiefs played the Browns was in 2018, where Kansas City won 37-21. Obviously, the two teams are very different then they were in that first meeting, most notably Kareem Hunt is in a Browns uniform now.

He’ll return to Kansas City for the first time since being released by the team in Nov. 2018.

Browns Head Coach Kevin Stefanski will also return to the sidelines after missing the Wild Card game due to a positive Covid test, and the team will likely get OL Joel Bitonio back as well.
