Despite a win over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 2, the Chiefs did not play well. One of the biggest concerns from last week is the penalties.

In Week 1, the Chiefs played very clean football, only being penalized once for five yards. However, Week 2 was quite the opposite. They were very sloppy, committing 11 penalties for 90 yards.

Some of the penalties came in key situations as Nick Allegretti committed a false start, extending Harrison Butker’s game-winning field goal to 58 yards.

Kelechi Osemele committed three penalties on Sunday, including a false start and two holding penalties. One of the holding penalties was late in the fourth quarter after a first down catch from running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire.

This week, the Chiefs have to be cleaner against one of the league’s best teams. Baltimore is going to take advantage of any opportunity that the Chiefs give them. The Chiefs also cannot afford the false starts or holding penalties as they could kill drives.

The discipline has to be at its best this week, or the Chiefs could be in real trouble.
