Chiefs beat Bills 38-24, advance to 2nd straight Super Bowl

For the second consecutive season, the Kansas City Chiefs are headed to the Super Bowl after dominating the Bills 38-24. In two weeks’ time, the Chiefs will take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV.

Once again, the Chiefs fell behind early 9-0 after a Buffalo field goal and a Mecole Hardman muff set up a short Buffalo TD.

Hardman made up for it quickly, with a TD on the next drive.

Hardman also sparked the next TD drive with a 50-yard run, leading to a Darell Williams TD to give the Chiefs a 14-9 lead.

In his first game since week 15, Clyde Edwards-Helaire also found the endzone in the first half to extend the lead to 12.

After both sides traded field goals to open the second half, the Chiefs began pulling away. A 71-yard catch-and-run from Tyreek Hill led to a shovel pass to Travis Kelce to make it a 31-15 game.

With Buffalo driving to try and make it a one-score game, the Chiefs defense finished the job, with Rashad Fenton intercepting a tipped Josh Allen pass.

Another Kelce TD catch finished the Bills off, and K.C. is returning to the Super Bowl.

The Chiefs big-three was simply incredible once again. Mahomes finished with 325 yards and three touchdowns. Kelce recorded a franchise postseason record with 13 receptions, tallying 118 yards. Hill set a franchise postseason record of his own with 172 yards on nine catches.

The Chiefs defense also produced arguably it’s biggest performance of the season, pressuring Josh Allen all day and forcing Buffalo to settle for field goals on multiple occasions in the red zone.

After 50 years between Super Bowl appearances, the Chiefs are now back for the second time in two years. With Patrick Mahomes at the helm, this may not be the only two for the foreseeable future.
