The Kansas City Chiefs are making a midseason splash, adding two-time All-Pro RB Le’veon Bell, according to Adam Schefter.

Bell was released by the Jets eariler in the week, and chose the Chiefs over the Dolphins and Bills, among a couple of others.

Bell will join Clyde Edwards-Helaire in forming a formidable one-two punch out of the Chiefs backfield, and he gives Patrick Mahomes another weapon in this already high-powered offense.

Both the Chiefs and Le’veon Bell made it official on their respective Twitters.

There has still not been a report on the money, but it is a one-year deal for Bell to prove himself before once again hitting the free-agent market.

Bell is not eligible to play on Monday, as he must go through five days of COVID testing before joining the team, but he could see the field next Monday when the team travels to Denver for week 7.

Bell signed a four-year, $52.5 million deal with the Jets last March after sitting out the entire 2018 season, his final year in Pittsburgh.

Bell found immense success in Pittsburgh, who drafted the Michigan State RB 48th overall in 2013. Bell ran for over 5,300 yards and 35 touchdowns, as well as tallying over 2,600 yards receiving.

Obviously, his time in East Rutherford was not as successful, and the Jets tried to trade him before releasing him after failing to find a trade partner.

Now Bell, still only 28, will get a chance to contribute for a Super Bowl contender and set his value before hitting the open market in March.

The Jets travel to Arrowhead on the first of November.
