Hi, what are you looking for?

Arrowhead Live 2021 Chiefs Mock Draft 2.0

The Chiefs are looking to improve their team this off-season to get back to the Super Bowl next year. Here are some players that could help complete that goal.

31. OT Liam Eichenberg – Notre Dame

Eric Fisher’s future with the Chiefs is very uncertain right now, so the Chiefs may look to take an OT with their first pick in the draft. Liam Eichenberg would be a great choice to add to the roster. He’s a pro-ready tackle that should be able to play a large amount early on. His biggest strength is in the run game, so Clyde Edwards-Heleire would benefit from this pick as well.

His ceiling could be as high as David Bakhtiari, so development could be a key focus for him. Mitchell Schwartz could teach him great techniques and grow him into an even better player than he already is. I’m very high on Eichenberg and I really believe he could be a great OT in the NFL.

63. WR Tylan Wallace – Oklahoma State

I don’t see Sammy Watkins sticking on the Chiefs for much longer, so I think they’re going to go ahead and draft his replacement here. Tylan Wallace is a senior WR from Oklahoma State, where he totaled 3,434 receiving yards and 26 TDs.

Wallace is a smaller receiver, but he makes up for it with his 4.45 speed and great run-after-catch abilities. He would fit right into the Chiefs’ second or third WR slot and would be a great player to have alongside Tyreek Hill.

95. IOL Trey Smith – Tennessee

The Chiefs already went out and grabbed Liam Eichberg at OT, but I think some help on the interior would be even more beneficial. Trey Smith is a senior IOL from Tennessee, who got second-team All-American honor this past season. He’s got great potential and good upside for the Chiefs.

The only prominent problem with Smith is his injury history. In 2018, Trey Smith was found to have blood clots in his lungs. Obviously, this isn’t good, but it doesn’t have seemed to affect him since 2018. If the Chiefs do decide to draft him, it is something to watch for though.

127. CB Tyson Campbell – Georgia

The Chiefs have a future star CB in L’Jarius Sneed, but aside from him, the secondary needs some help. Tyson Campbell out of Georgia would be a great addition. He’s a player that could be well worth the 4th round pick if he were able to get developed properly.

He has good man coverage skills but lacks the consistency to make plays. This is something that will need to be worked on if he’s going to turn out a starting CB for the Chiefs. Thankfully, I think one year of development under Spags and the other coordinators could turn Campbell into a quality player.

159. LB Tony Fields II – West Virginia

After transferring from Arizona to go to West Virginia in 2020, he became the leader of the Mountaineers defense. In his four college years at those two schools, he accumulated 375 tackles and 9.5 sacks as an LB. His ability to tackle in open space is excellent and he could be a real steal for the Chiefs.

If he and Willie Gay could be out on the field and develop together, they could be a scary LB duo for opposing offenses. Tony Fields has tremendous upside in my opinion and could turn into a sleeper pick in this upcoming draft.

223. EDGE Shaka Toney – Penn State

Shaka Toney had a very impressive college career at Penn State. In his four years, he had 20 sacks and 28.5 tackles for loss. He performed pretty well in this weird 2020 Big Ten season as well, grabbing 5 sacks in only 8 games.

The big issue for Toney in terms of his transition into the NFL is his size. He’s a little undersized but that helps him partially in getting to the QB quicker. If he can put some pounds on and remain a quick edge threat though, look for him to become a solid defensive piece for the Chiefs.
